1) Had loads of fun and pasta for the Whole Kismis Stay. 2) Had really wonderful learning experience and new friends from the JCPBF 2008 3) Esplanade Concert on the 21st was really really well done. 4) I really enjoyed Dr. Eric Hammer's teaching. 5) Classiques! planning was really really a chore! 6) Classiques! went about 80% well. 7) I want a 2nd try for 1st half! 8) Made new friends. Catched up with Old Friends. 9) Plocks Reunion soon. HB Sentosa outing soon. i miss PERKIES. 10) Had an awesome chat with my cousin, Fir. 11) Time Flies. JC&Polytechnic Band Festival 2008
Catch 13 institutions in one night! Experience exciting wind music with the Junior College & Polytechnic Band Festival 2008!
In this Band Festival, band members from various junior colleges, polytechnics and pre-university institutions come together and form festival bands which perform under the batons of local and international guest conductors Dr Eric Hammer, Mr Leonard Tan & CPT Muhamad Yusri.
This eight edition of the festival brings you a diverse repertoire from three bands, one of which is the Honour Band led by internationally renowned conductor, Dr Eric Hammer from USA. Hand-picked via audition, members of the Honour Band will present spectacular music from different cultures and genres. Dr. Hammer is currently the Director of Bands at University of Pacific.

Synopsis The Philharmonic Youth Winds brings you on a musical journey to reminiscence works that contributed in the development of the local wind music scene.
Be treated to some of the most recognizable music, from Japanese animation GR Selection to Frank Ticheli's Blue Shades, and classic overtures such as James Barnes' Symphonic Overture and James L. Hosay’s Persis Overture. You will also be enchanted by the beautiful sound of the oboe in the Cappricio for Oboe and Band by A. Ponchielle, featuring Tay Kai Tze, a musician of The Philharmonic Winds. Finally, be thrilled by Alfred Reed's masterpiece, the exciting El Camino Real, and A Movement for Rosa by Mark Camphouse, which pays a moving tribute to heroine Rosa Parks.
These classics have been essential in shaping the wind music scene, and any wind music enthusiast must grab this opportunity to hear them once again!
