Simply HAPPY!

Presenting...

The Philharmonic Youth Winds

GOLD

with a percentage of 93.43%
(Top Band in Division I)

We did better than my own dream. I had a dream that we received 92.77% for the competition. Heh. So much for stuffing myself with $5.10 worth of Old Chang Kee after the competition at the band room. Heh! All the effort paid off seriously. Now, this Saturday there will be a performance for the honour bands at the Esplanade. 7.30am. Do come down and support us alright!

Night before the competition, me and huici made a deal that both RP and Philyouth will get into Top 2 in the division. IT DID come true! Huge Congrats to RP Wind Symphony for their hardwork and their singing. RPWS singing is really superb. The guys voice were really in tune. I like. Heh!

I really thank the people in Philyouth for this medal man! Once again, I've received another gold and another top in division. Back in 2006, my first Gold with SSW, was really really an entirely a shock! My first gold made me scream happily and all. We deserved it that night. Last night too, the adrenaline rush in me when we saw the results from the judges, all of them gave us at least 90%. I jumped out of my seats and I really thank God for it. I can't describe that feeling of clinching the same position I had, back in 2006. I have a really wonderful section ; The OCK-sters. Had our own little laughs and big big disturbance. Getting stressed over every little things that occured. Hehe! Wonderful band mates, who always made me feel at home. Bitching is our favourite hobby and trying to find a way home after band, is always a question in our mind. Not forgetting our very own Mr Adrian Chiang, who let us produce the most wonderful music ever. Bitching sessions and major jokes. Congratulations to Mr Chiang for getting Marist into the finals!

I really don't know what will happen to us on Saturday. Philyouth will do their best this Saturday, at the Esplanae. Do Come down to support us.

The Finalist and the Golds of SIBF 2008:

Regent Wind Symphony (Top in 2nd Division)
The Philharmonic Youth Winds (Top in First Division)

Anglo Chinese School (Independent) Symphonic Band (Gold, Finalist)
Maris Stella Alumni Symphonic Band (Silver, Finalist)
Assumption College Lampang Symphonic Band, Thailand (Silver, Finalist)
Tom Lee Hong Kong Youth Neowinds Orchestra, China (Silver, Finalist).
Saturday awaits...

Competition is coming up really soon!
I'm serious! Okay, it's not Cheerobics 2009 but it's

Singapore International Band Festival

From what I see, I'm not really prepared for this competition and because of this, I might lose focus of the competition and go to TRCC, sight reading those two pieces. I'm really really freaking out for the competition. Getting a gold for myself is already tempting. If this competition allows me to reach for that Gold Medal, this will be my 2nd for the competition and I really really want that medal. My friends and competitors are doing very well, improving every practice but what I feel about us is that we're just stagnant and not moving forward. I'm really really afraid of that shining silver. I'm sick of it already. I'm going to push myself for this final three practice and before heading for the competition.

I'm going to be excused from school next Thursday for the SIBF. My competition slot is the band before the break. So I think, it's quite "jialat" though. Being a timpanist, is freaking tough can?! A lot of responsibilities. Also, being the last band before the break, it's worse! Cos I really have to watch out for the tuning and stuffs. You might never know what will happen on that day. The rest of the bands are doing damn well can?! Their competition pieces also, quite "shiong"! I'm really freaking out, seriously. Well, I just hope people could come down and give me support. At least, I have the motivation to give it all my best. Hmm, I wish my cheer team could see me perform the next time. Let them know what do I do besides cheer. I really really hope that that will happen. Oh well.

On another note, Aiband and Marsiling Winds achieved Silver medals with a percentage of 76% and 74% respectively. Quite happy for both but a bit surprised over the results as well. About Aiband, I'm not sure what happened but I'm not in any position to comment about them. Marsiling Winds, I'm quite surprised that they did better in the competition than the rehearsals itself. Ha! But to be honest, I'm quite surprised with the results. I thought we will get a lower percentage but hey, it's a good opportunity for them to shine on further. I'm quite disappointed as Sembawang got a silver medal for their competition too. I was really sure that they did well for their pieces. Yes, I miss them loads. Seriously, the same old people and stuffs. I really really want to go back there and play with them. Somehow, they're one of the few groups that brought me up, seriously. Rawr. Shall think of going back there this November/December. ((:

You know I was in school today, and I saw this tracker who was wearing this slogan club tee. I think the slogan is damn cool.

"Passion beats Talent"

Come to think of it, passion really beats talent? Or talent is just an advantage towards passion? how does passion builds up? through talent, vice versa.

"You're not good, if you're not getting better"

in other words ; stay ahead. don't you ever dare give up. I'm not leaning back and going to watch the show again. I'm working my ass off, just to be in the show. We shall see the results and I'm not going to leave anyone behind.

Happy Birthday to Ng JunJie! Mr I-Love-To-Flash-My-Dick-On-Msn.
This is a preview picture of you!
Hehe!

Will continue on blogging later. Got to finish up my studies.
Enjoy the youtube video.

This is a test that i just did not so long ago. It's about 80% true. Heh, I'm still quite surprised that a lot of people still do not know me yet after so many years. heh!

Your view on yourself:

You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You have many goals and want to achieve as much as you can. The jobs you enjoy are those that let you burn off your considerable excess energy.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

More pictures and updates will be up soon!

I just feel like blogging today. I really don't know why. Maybe it's because that I can't really sleep. ha! Anyways, I've been quite busy lately. There's upcoming performances this week. For instance, there's National Day Parade (NE Show) this Saturday and also Milkrun this Sunday. Been packed with routines and also trainings. For once, I feel that I have quite a number of projects to finish up as soon as possible. WISP and CORcom is really killing me! a Business concept and a Social Studies concept. I feel so "MI"! HAHA!

Anyways, people who got your tickets for NDP, congratulations! I ballot a total of 24 tickets with 6 different ic's and I didn't get a pair at all! What the hell?! This is not fair, seriously! *Sadded* Oh well, I only received a pair of tickets from the NDP committee because I'm a performer! heh. NDP shows will commence from this Sat all the way till the actual National Day. Woah, so my Saturdays are a total "byebye". Tsk! I will just eat myself up! haha. that SUPER CHEESY CHEER is really O.o Gosh, I'm glad my parents are not coming for the show. They are going back to Malaysia to visit my grandparents. Rawr, I want to go too! Tsk, hectic times is NOW!

National Band Competition is on the 12th and the 13th July! Praying hard that my dear Aiband juniors will do a pretty good job on that day. Hope they could achieve what they're aiming for. Getting it might not be easy but if they believe and have confidence in themselves, I'm sure they can get it! Not only them, Marsiling Winds are going too, for Open Cat. Hmm, a very young band indeed and ambitious too. They're a not band community band, just that I feel they need exposure and also opportunity. Hmm, helping them out and been playing with them lately and managed to see the improvement. That's a good thing. Hmm, do it right, you'll get that Silver. Do it even better, you'll get that Gold! Jiayou to you all. ((:

Not only that, I have my own competition on the 23rd July, Thursday. Singapore International Band Festival. Philyouth is playing for 1st Division. We have less than 3 weeks to go and we still have a lot of brushing up to do! Gosh, for once I finally have a full section. More sectionals are coming up for ourselves alright! Jiayou Philyouth! Top 3, Top 3, Top 3!

Division I
1 Ngee Ann Polytechnic Concert Band
2 Raffles Girls' School Symphonic Band
3 NIE Youth Symphonic Band
4 Raffles Institution Military Band
5 Philharmonic Youth Winds
6 Republic Polytechnic Wind Symphony
7 Tampines Wind Ensemble
8 Sembawang Symphonic Winds
9 Orchid Park Wind Orchestra

Not forgetting, I'm auditioning for Southeast Asia Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (SAYOWE) on the 20th July 2008. Fighting hard for the Timpani seat the most or the percussion side. Can't decide if whether I want to go for the orchestra or wind ensemble. It's really a good experience and exposure for both as well. Besides, if I passed the audition, I'll get to go to Thailand for a scholarship camp thingy for like 10days and perform with the rest of the SEA musicians. Wouldn't that be great? Besides that, expenses for accommodations and stuffs are all paid for! Only my own expenses are not! haha. Wouldn't that be great too?! this might be a good testimonial for me for my further studies in Music. Heh. If I got in, I'll be going off from 12-19october. Hmm, will decide again on pieces. Have a few in mind already. hmm.

Jiayou to all! ((:
I'm still laughing at you!
Confidence!
GO AWAY,
Mr Phobia.
I shall see my buddy becoming
Mr Bow&Arrow!
heh.

i want to be my usual self.
