Sunday, July 30, 2006,

Okay, I assume that this post might be filled with explicit language. So, before anything happens, if you guys think that I'm wrong in any situation. Let it be. This is just my thoughts. So, back off!

First thing is that, I'm sorry to Magnum Force that I did not turn up for many practices. I could say that it is partly my fault that I've so many commitments and I turn up for trainings once a week or so. I'm not saying that I'm not committed to this wonderful cca but sometimes certain things that happen during training totally disgust me off. Other than that, I've other practices too. I have a HUGE passion for performing arts and I know I can do my best in everything but will you guys give me a chance?

Lenny once asked me, "Fifi, if you were to choose between your band and magnum what will it be?". I stuttled for the moment. Thinking of what to go for. In the end, I told Lenny that I will have to choose both. Like I said, I have a HUGE passion for performing arts and I want to perform and train myself up. Five Bloody years playing in the same bloody band, 2 years in a Band of which I love so much, 8 months in another band which inspires me to be better player and in 4 months in Magnum force. I'm not willing to give up any of these. Then, I realised that I'd to sacrifice some of it. I chose the path to leave Sembawang Symphonic Winds as I know that they are able to strive their best without me as I don't think I'm able to put myself much to a use for the band. So, from everyday band practices, all the way cut down to Thursday and Sundays. So I assume that I will able to come for every training since now trainings are on Monday, Fridays and Saturdays. Give me a chance please. I promised Lenny and I will try to keep up with my promises.

Band Time.

Last practice on Thurday turned out to be quite allright though. We were sight reading all the pieces that I myself never played before. Okay, we sight read "Sevens" by Samuel R. Hazo. Gosh, that piece is totally a KILLER. I never played such "chim" time signature before. 11/16, 15/18, 16/18 and stuffs like that. But in the end, it turned out to be us, the players laughing out at each others mistakes! Totally Oh-My-Goodness. Up next was "African Ceremony and Ritual" by Robert W. Smith. A piece which I was dying to play since I was in secondary four. Finally, I got the chance to play and I screwed up my parts! Got to work hard for that piece. It ain't easy but then, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! Last finally was "Symphony No. 5 ; Finale" by Alfred Reed. It was nice and PRESTO! I had to do running notes with one hand as the other hand is doing the same thing, only an ocatve higher. Gosh, it's hard. Mr Willy is training Selene and myself to control our wrist and hands so that we're able to do running notes more effectively. Well, maybe in December I will be having another concert with the main band itself. So, got to practice hard.

Today was the youth band practice. I realised that a lot of things happened behind my back. I'm just thinking whether I should be direct or not, as I do not want to hurt the other party. I seriously do not mind keeping the problems locked up rather than losing a friendship which should be made to last forever. I already lost quite a number of close friends as I don't think they can accept the way I'm living myself now ; a busy teenager. So, I assume that I should just keep quiet and just go on with the flow. If you wish to know what happen, continue to read on later. Anyways, the concert is coming up on the 12th August, So come and support please. This time round, most of them are the new batch of people. So, see how good are they. Hmm, my section will be playing a surprise item after in Interval i think. So, hope did not cork up or anything though. Prays hard. Been too busy until I myself lost touch with the timpani. I miss my four babies. =)

Random thing ; Here's the list of performances and concerts I've performed before and will be performing this year.

Comworks 2006 with SwSYouth.
Exchange with Dunman High, Yio Chu Kang with Sembawang Symphonic Winds.
SwS Percussion Ensemble.
Aiband's Jubilant ; A combined choir and band concert.
A Hilton Hotel Performance with Sembawang Symphonic Winds.
National Band Competition with Sembawang Symphonic Winds.
"Honor Bands" In Concert with Sembawang Symphonic Winds.
Singapore Wind Symphony ; Beautiful Sunday at Esplanade.
A concert With Sembawang Wind Orchestra with Sembawang Symphonic Winds.
Clementi Town Alumi Band "Back to the 60's" as Guest Player.
"Press Start" With the SwSYouth.
End of Year concert With Singapore Wind Symphony.
End of Year concert with Sembawang Symphonic Winds. *You will know why this is strike out in the next post.

Speaking of concert. On the 23rd July 2006, Ssw received it's Gold and Top band trophy for the National Band Competition. Quite happy about it though. So, we performed almost our best during the concert but I guess, we could have done better. I've made friends with the Aichi Meiden High School Band. They came down to Singapore just to have a concert on the Tuesday's itself which I went to. They played Centennial March and El Cumbachero for that day. Wow, it was SUPERB! The percussionist are uber cute and the teacher in charge I think, she's studyin in NUS and she's a Marimba player, taking up a degree in playing at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory. That's the school I wish to enter once I get my diploma and Grade 8 in Theory. They are Superbly good for a High School Band though. But nonetheless, others will have different comments on different band.

Their concert, which was held on the 25th July was totally AWESOME. I'm jealous of Meridien JC who had exchange with them for a few days or so. Now I can see the reason why most of the audiences are going "GA-GA" over them. The reason is because, they can't speak english that well and they are uber cute! Ouh well, I wanted to take pictures with the Percussion section but pity, Ignatius, a close friend of mine who had to rush home as he do not wish to get screwed by his mum. So, I missed the opportunity. Ouh well, I'm glad I took a picture with the Conductor and Akari herself. Lucky me.

:))))

Random Thing is that I want money to go shopping. I think I shall create a wishlist on my new blogskin which will be either orange or purple. Kind off fallen in love with these two colours. I guess I want to get a blogskin which suits the-ME! Simply Fifi, get it? A Certified He-Bitch. Okay, you guys will know what I wish to get when my new blogskin will be up in about 457234803484248924802480955 minutes. =)

WARNING. FROM HERE ON, THIS POST WILL CONTAIN A BIT OF EXPLICIT LANGUAGE. SO, IF YOU DO WISH TO GET OFFENDED. STOP HERE, SCROLL DOWN TILL MY LAST FEW PARAGRAPH WHICH WILL NOT BE IN RED. IF SO, DO READ ON. IT'S MY BLOG AND I WISH TO DO ANYTHING I WANT TO. :)))

Okay, what I actually realised is that like I've said behind my back a lot of things has been happening. So, let the people BITCH about me. Who cares?! I never come for practices. WHO CARES?! What I receive when I come back is, "WOAH, WHY YOU NEVER COME TRAINING ARH?" or like "WOAH, U MISSED OUT ALOT. NOW, EVERYBODY HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOU. GOSH". Oh, soo it's my fault now?! Oh please, to think that some of you came more regularly than I do and I thought most of you are better than me. In fact, I STILL do think so OKAY "miss-oh-so-I-Can-do-everything-that-you-cannot-do-HAHA". What the freakingly oh my goshness fuckhead la, you think you damn BIG meh?! Oh, Okay. I admit. I didn't go for training due to REASONS like My mum ADMITTED to hospital and a band COMPETITION?! What the freaking fuck?! It's not as if I did not COME forever Please! YOu don't even know what happen. So ZIp it Please can?!

"Ms-oh-so-Look-at-me-I'm-cute-and-I-can-do-everything-when-you-did-not-come-for-training" YOU don't have to brag about everything that you do. OUH PLEASE la, I've seen better people than you and I don't see them BRAGGING about it. Go and brag to you "Oh-Your-So-hOt-That-I'm-Gonna-Melt" Friend then. WHY the freaking fucking toot goodness hell do you talk to me for? TO SEE HOW GOOD you Really are?! Oh gosh, If you think that you're SOOoo Oh My goshness Good that you can teach me the whole thing, SO TEACH! Why keep pointing out my mistakes you youself are doing the SAME bloody tootie HELL mistake?! Other people ask you to do this and that, I don't think you ever listen. No wait, I don't think you even WANNA listen. Yarh, You're the BEST! Oh gosh. It's about teamwork and helping one another out. NOt giving that "LOOK-AT-ME-I'm-THE-BEST" wannabe attitude. OH PLEASE. To think that you're soo adorablly nice and I think that's utterly freakingly oh my goshnessly BULLCRAP Please! *roll eyes* I have my say and you have yours. FULL STOP! =) and Oh please, if you think you don't like me, Tell me directly. Don't have to act nice infront of me! Everyone has their own flaws and bad points. I admit that I do and guess what? SO DO YOU! Goshness la!

Another scenario is that Okay, bitching is fine. But once it's get over the limit, I'm sure that you're doom for the rest of the life. Like I said, everyone has their bad points and even myself. So, I worked hard to get into somewhere which I know I could focus on. Oh c'mon please la, I think when you were young, I don't think you can play as what you can play now. To think that you're good? Oh please, who are you to comment about other people's playing? It's fine with me if you just want to tell me and stuff but then, have to spread to the whole world about their playing meh?! Oh my totally gosh-ness la! If you're think you're good, should hear other people's WORDS about your Playing. Gosh, I myself admit I'm not a very good player until now! I myself trying to learn from my mistakes. So much for a lot of things. It's a good thing I did not let myself out from the situation. I just keep it into myself. If I was like Melvin *no offence melvin =)* I would just SCREWED YOUR ASS WITH MY LAWYER's CHAINSAW! It's a good thing that I have a lot of patience with everyone here. Just that I feel some of you have bigger mouth than I do. Oh please, if you do not wish to help the juniors anymore, DON'T COME BACK! Oh gosh, please la! Look into the mirror and stop BEING TYPICALLY E-G-O CAn?!

:))))

I still Love you guys though.

Oh well, RELIEVED! Finally. I'm going to edit my blog to the new blogskin and I will post something for my beloved Ssw.

So, for now. I'm off! See ya around, CUPCAKES! =)

Too nice to be Furious!

I think this will be a short update. I do not know why. All I can think about is now, my mum will be discharge today from Kk hospital due to a minor operation which took place last Thursday. I miss my mum. Oh well, hope she comes back early though. I love you mum!

Anyways, I've realised that taxi drivers nowadays are so typical. They are just there to collect money *obviously* and it would be better if they could collect more. I do not know why they are after money so much. Seriously, there are thousands of citizens waiting for a cab and no taxi drivers wish to take them. When they are in need of passengers, they will pyscho us to take the route that they think they know better (This applies to people who do not know roads very well). Anyways, it happened to me twice. This is what happen :

First event :
I flagged the cab. A silver cab stop and I board it around 8.15am.

"Uncle, Clementi Road. Ngee Ann Poly"
"Which road you want to go to?"
"Erm, fastest way la. I usually take to Mandai Road, up to Dairy Farm road then to Clementi Road"
"Aiyah, I take you through PIE. Faster"
"Anything la. I late for class la uncle"

So, I fell asleep in the taxi while waiting for him to drive me to school, hoping that I won't be late for maths class. Guess what, when I woke up. I'm at somewhere which I do not know. It was PIE I think, the time was 8.52am and the cab fare was already $17 plus. I was utterly surprised that I have not reach school yet. The uncle said, how? 5 minutes left. I looked at him. Rolled my eyes and I raised my voice, "I dunnoe la uncle!" I was so pissed off. The driver saw my face and then did not talk to me until I reached school. When I reached school, I told him to drop me off infront of the atrium. and the cab fare was $23! I told him. Uncle, I'm being nice to you. I'm already later for class, it's already 9.35am. I told you already! I'm going to pay you $20 to make you happy. He said sorry and I then slammed the door.

I was pissed off with him please. Okay, maybe it was a bad start of the day.

2nd scenario :
It was drizzling. I board a comfort cab around 8.30am to school. I said the same thing,
"Uncle, Clementi Road. Ngee Ann poly"
He drove. I was late for school as there is a maths quiz on that day. I was at dairy farm road. It was at 8.45am. I told the uncle,
"Uncle, erm. Can drive faster please. I do not wish to be late for school. Sorry.."
Then, it started. He replied.
"Are u malay?"
Then, he talked to me in malay. He said something like,
"You're late for school and you ask me to drive faster. We're all human beings. It's raining and you ask me to drive faster?! I'm older than you. Could you at least respect me? We malays are tought to respect elderly."
Then, I said
"I knowwwwww! I only just asked if whether you could drive faster "
I mean, Hello! I know I was not being nice to you by asking you to drive me faster. At least, I ASKED you in a polite manner. Oh gosh, he drove slowly and my cab fare is $16.10. Usually it's only $12.70! What the hell! I'm so pissed off with taxi drivers. I didn't even disrespect him in the first place. Why does he have to talk about race? Oh gosh, I did not do anything wrong in the first place!

Ouh gosh, some taxi drivers are so mean! Gosh. Let's forget about them allright. I think now, I rather save money and not take taxi! Buses will do just fine! Heekz.

Anyways, congratulations to the new band committee. Hope you guys prosper along the years. May God bless Aiband. I won't be coming back to Aiband no more. Lesser stress, more time to focus on SWS, SSW and Magnum Force! heekz! I'm coming back once the SWS posters are up! To promote to that band.

Anyways, EXAMS are in 4 weeks!!! CHIONG ARH!

Pictures are up! Go see!

I'm off to chalet!

BIG NEWS!

One Week Events that totally wake me up! First thing, Magnum force is having a cheer leading workshop for public. Free to do stunts, gymnastics and more! All you have to do is to just sign up at www.magnumforce.cjb.net and an amount of $4 is required to attend this workshop in our School's Sport Deck level Three. Hope you guys will be able to come for this workshop.

Let me Talk about Magnum Force first. Since my band events are almost over, Lenny told me to promise him to come for all trainings. I shouldn't have promised him that. It's not that I do not have passion for Magnum Force. It's just that I love to perform on stage to let people see and watch. I do not like to compete ; other than being in Nationals and more. Other than that, I have passion for performing arts and sports too. That's the reason why I join Magnum Force. It's not that I do not want to commit. I understand that Magnum Force needs a full time commitment, but please give me time to reduce down on my other commitments. Another thing is that I realised I've been left out from the stunts, due to reasons, obviously for not coming training due to having band practice and more.

But then, I told myself, I need to catch up on my own, learn and watch and practice hard so that I will have more confidence in myself to do stunts and be a good base. Speaking of base, I've asked Lenny to train me to be a better flyer. He said all I have to do is to just build up my strength as to be a 2nd base flyer, I need strength and a large amount of momentum to support myself and my top flyer. Wilson is now learning to do it. Of course, I am jealous obviously. Wilson, Shaun Mok and myself will be train to be a stong second base. Thanks Lenny for giving me this chance!

I've realised that I love Monday training more than other training days. Monday training is fun more me as it is a day whereby Physical Training is critical and stunts are little and it gives me time to catch up on stunts that I did not learn or do for the past trainings. Heekz, Gymnastics too are very fun! Especially Back Tuck Jump! I want to do it can? I must be good! C'mon Fifi. Let's Go! I love my seniors!

Zi Jun, Jen, Zhi Liang, KL : Thanks for supporting me last training. Sorry I broke down infront of you guys. Kind off embarassing and thanks for making me trust you guys. Aww, Shucks!

I'm going for more training!

2nd event : Ai's Concert ; Jubilant, A combined concert of Choir and Band. First thing, I think the school somehow don't appreciate peoples help. Well, I think I'm not going to help AiBand that much now. I think they can cope on their own. Let them settle their stuffs on their own. I think they should know their standard by now and should start to walk on their two feets. I can't possibly be helping them, especially the majors. If not, when will they learn and always depend on seniors. Besides, I don't think the school appreciates my help. All my hardwork and sacrifices to the band all did not pay off. Instead it went into the drain. Now I know how much the band and the teachers, including the school do not wish for me to come back to Aiband and help. Well, since now I know the answer. I think I will leave them on their own. I do not want to be stress for events which are not mine when they themselves think too highly of themselves and not prepared to face the shame and consequences. They do not know what other bands and people talk about Aiband. I don't think they realise their mistakes. I do not know when will Aiband will learn their mistakes. Well, I realised that they will only work if they wish to, not have to. The concert went along fine. The choir did a very good job but the band, did allright. The combine was Great. Great audience and it was Full House! Allright. Nothing much I wish to say about Aiband anymore. I dun think I will come back to Ai no more. I shall not volunteer to help the band no more. =) All the best to them. Loved.

Oh, Good Job on getting a BRONZE for the NBC! =)

3rd Event :

15th July 2006
A Day to be remembered.

Our wait for the results for the competition was such a killer! But in the end, our efforts paid off.

Band No. 1:
Sembawang Symphonic Winds.
With the Percentage of 87.5%,

GOLD!!

All of us scream with joy. I do not know why but I can't cry once they released the result. The taste of Gold is really good. Also, not to forget. We Clinged as the TOP BAND for 2nd Division! How good can that be?! We will be performing on the 23rd July for band presentation. Some other bands did quite well too. Quite proud of CCHY and got Gold itself for the competition. I shall drag them to SWS! Heekz!

Mercury and Noah's ark!

Wonder where our 2.5% went to, if not it will be a distinction. We owe a lot to Mr D ng, Mr A Ng, Wai Geng and of course, ourselves! Without anyone of us, I don't think the gold can be there! We were the smallest band there, members of only 40 odd plus and we were the softest. We lost in volume but beaten them in intonation and sound. Now I realise that Volume in music is only 10% of what we should play. The rest relies on Intonation, Syncopation and Sound and Balance. Well, I'm still Too happy!

I'm off! TOP BAND!

EVENTS!

Things have been great recently. I'm improving in studies as I've recently have been mugging for some of my subjects. The only thing I'm in need of help is only maths. Gosh, I wonder why I've been so weak in mathematics. I seriously do not know why but for all I know, I really need help for mathematics. I received a letter from Mr. Kwan saying that I have to go for maths extra tutorial class and a retest next tuesday. I can't go for his tutorials but I mite be going for his retest. I just hope I do better for the next round. I do not wish to repeat this module again.

I just had my retest yesterday. Okay, I guess I did quite bad again like my common test. Just that I'm praying hard that I managed to pass this paper. Heekz, Gosh! Anyways, my results are quite bad though. Gosh, Two B's and two D's! It's like good and bad both! Gosh, I've been mugging recently though. Okay, enough of poly life!

CONCERT! Things have been busy recently. BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY was a SUCESS! I can't imagine it please! My first esplanade performance and it's FULL HOUSE! Thanks to all those who came and supported me and the band itself. Love you guys so much! Okay, the concert was great seriously! Like what Aizat said, it really shows that SWS really goes Animals! (Being that the concet title is SWS Goes Animals!) It was really one memorable event though! Gosh, thanks a lot to the main band committee for letting me have this opportunity to play in the main band. Anyways, there was this young boy who was brought up by Mr Yusri and conducted the band! Oh my gosh, I'm not kidding! He was about 108cm plus in height. The thing about him is that when he was brought up from the band, he went up the podium and opened up the conductor score! How amazing can that be man?! I think this kid will be a good musician though. Oh well, all he did was pointing at Greg *Drummer* and conducted in Two's! Cool isn't it?! Well, I was definitely excited when I entered the empty concert hall, it was a superb feeling! I have my pictures but have not upload them yet. Gosh! Thanks for supporting guys!

Tommorrow on the 13th July, I will be having a concert ; JUBILANT, a combine band and choir concert. Okay, I'm not expecting a very good from my school band. As long as they enjoy this concert and gain experience, I'm okay with it because I know that there might be a slight cork up in this concert. So, I don't mind if they don't do this well. Just that I hope that they do not really cork up this concert up! *Prays hard* Well, I wanted to ask Mr Tong that I wanted to conduct for one piece but I guess that it is kind of too late. So, too bad for me then! Tommorrow I'm performing, anyone wish to turn up? heekz. $10 please.

Saturday! Big day for us! Gosh, pray hard for GOLD please! Gosh, I hope I won't cork up during the competition and make the judges vomit their food out. We're the first band after lunch can?! Gosh, hope the judges are nice on that day. Pray too that what Mr. D Ng says comes true ; that we will be judge after three bands. If this happens, I think we might have the chance. Well, I'm using hardwork, faith and luck for this competition though. I think with this competition, the name of Sembawang Symphonic Winds will rise above most bands. Gosh, I'm excited! The last training will be on this Friday.

Announcement of Results
Band No. 1

Silver? Gold? Gold With Distinction?

GOLD PLEASE!

Gosh! Can't wait! Pray hard people! Practice! Nothing is Impossible!

UPDATE!

This will be a short update I suppose. I'm at home now, currently suffering for diarrhoea. I'm skipping EngMaths lecture today, hoping that Mr Kwan won't kill me. I think I will go for practical later though. Ouch!

Anyways, been wanting to update my blog but then, L-A-Z-Y! I hope I can finish up my update before 9.30am. Gosh, this few days has been hectic for me! Imagine myself cabbing down to different destination within one day due to being late for rehearsals or events. Last Sunday, I cabbed down from SWS down to SSW. Woah, my money fly can?

Last Saturday, Hilton hotel performance. It was practically allright. In the first place, I think Ssw should be honoured to get the opportunity to perform for Dr. Tony Tan, who is leaving Sembawang GRC. Anyways, having the thought that we will perform on the stage itself, it was totally a big mistake. In the end, we had to perform on the side of the stage whereby on the other hand was the Orchestra Melayu Marsiling. As usual, we were given limited space for the performance and we had to squeeze our instruments and butts. Gosh, I pity my tubist. They practically have to sit side by side without any gaps just to let my mallet percussion move in and have space. Anyways, playing in Hilton hotel was simply cool. Free buffet and it was superb! Though we realise that the choices were small, but what could be better than getting a free buffet?! The performers there were great. Well, there were the Woodlands Secondary dance society, Orchestra Melayu Marsiling, Marsiling Chinese Orchestra and of course, Sembawang Symphonic Winds. They should have a choir too. I think that will be cool! Anyways, we shared that small area with the chinese orchestra. As usual, I've been having this hatred feeling for chinese orchestra since I was a secondary 2. It's more like a competition kind of feeling. Well, I think the pieces that we played did blast them of from their instrument. Nonetheless, I think the chinese orchestra people are nice. Thanks for helping me back there boy, whatever your name is! lol!

Well, the performance was superb ! Other than me playing a obvious arpeggios with a wrong note! I suppose to end with a Bb but I ended with an Ab note. Gosh, sorry band! Well, one thing I learn from the competition is that never fight over small matters and make it worse. Well, I still have to work hard. Competition is just next week! GOLD please?! Okay, last band practice was simply allright. I think we improved a lot more. I just realised all the while I've been playing wrong running notes! Gosh! Silly me, I should have observe the score more in depth. Oh well, it's a good thing I realised it now rather than I played a wrong note during the competition. I hope the judges will be nice to all of us. Maybe, some of my competitors deserve to get gold and some of us maybe deserve to get gold with distinction. No silver Please! heekz. I'm so excited for this competition though. Really can't wait for it to occur. I want to trash my competitors! Heekz, I hope Chung Cheng High (Yishun) will get Gold too! I heard their playing was good. Hmm, their pieces really bring back memories!

Sws practice! Oh please, I lost touch with my 4 sexy timpanis already. I think I have to get use to playing timpani again as I think I'm playing too much mallet! Last practice, was okay. Played final fantasy 7 of which I screwed up my parts. ALOT! Carnival of the Animals which I think was good. The Incredibles was Okay and of course, Final fantasy 10 which I think was superb! I'm having a FREE concert this SUNDAY at the ESPLANADE CONCERT HALL. 3PM. Do come and support me can?! I love you guys!

Yesterday, I went back to Aiband to play. I took the band yesterday. Well, they seem to be playing much better. Yes, I think what Huang Yun said is quite true. The band only works on peices which they like and I think with the Modified techno version of Yellow mountains, they seem to love it. Well, Huang Yun suggesting for this piece, the band wants me to conduct them. Well, I hope Mr thong will give me the opportunity though. I still love Aiband! Guys, work hard please!

MAGNUM FORCE! Ready, Okay! One, Two, Down UP! Training was really Superb! I'm proud of myself! I finally can do most things on my own already. It's just I think I'm lacking confidence to do things. I want to lose my BIG FLABBY TUMMY can?! Gosh, I wan six packs. Form up slowly please? I love it. I can do their stunts now. Last time, I can't do elevator but now, I CAN! Yay! Happy for myself. Okay, I think I grew a bit stronger. I'm Still Fat! I love Magnum! I love our coaches! One is super bitchy, Lenny. He's super nice and a good flyer! My Inspiration to be a flyer is here again! The other one is Dion, the hyper motivational one. He's a good base and always think that he's fat! Heekz. I'm going magnum today! I wanna lose 3 kg! 50kg again please?!

Okay, I'm out!

It's you.
