Time flies really really fast. I think this is my fourth time at the Esplanade. However, this time round it was with Philharmonic Winds. I was damn happy that I'm able to perform with them, seriously. They're really different. Like every other bands I've played with, they have their own unique strength and so forth. I was in a concert with Daniel Yiau! Ha!
In my last post, I did mention that the feeling I had playing in this concert was orgasmic. IT'S TRUE! The feeling was damn good. Everyone was really involved in the music. Giving their 100% into every single "taugeh". Plus, this is one of the concerts that I don't have to lead. heh! Just shut up and follow the instructions. Well, the only sad thing is that I don't get to camwhore as much as my other concerts though. I finally get to play "Fantillusion", getting high over it since secondary 2. Heh.
During the concert, everyone mood is getting high. As we move piece by piece, the "musicality" in us starts to rage. Rawr, kind of sad that I didn't play the last piece but still, Pirates was SUPERB! The best I ever had!
Oh, I met BRYAN NEO after our first meet in 2005. Ha!
Damn, he look different.
Regards to those who came down to the concert, making it a full house. Huge regards to my juniors, who took their time off to come down and support me. Big Hearts. sorry niecejy. Oh, Thanks for the flower too.
Oh, Rifqi the Malay Boy said that I have nice hairdo! Haha! *grins*
I don't know about the upcoming events in Philyouth. Hmm, I don't know about the SIBF, whether are we competing or not. Rawr.

Last Saturday, the BandFusion Crew went out for SYF Outdoor at the National Stadium. Well, it was supposed to be held at CCAB but due to last minute changes, they held it at national stadium. I guess this will REALLY be the last time I step into that place before it will get demolished and revamped FOR REAL. Heh.
Anyways, the display for this year were pretty awesome. Some were better in their display and some totally destroyed and embarrassed themselves. I shall not name anyone of them. Well, I shall say good job to Deyi Band, TKBand, Hwa Chong Institution, Bukit Panjang Government High and Yuying Sec.
Personally, I felt that this year's display was much better than the one in 2006. Well, maybe it's because like I've said before, quite a number of bands improved themselves, tremendously. It was really a close fight between two strong-going bands this year ; TKBand and DeyiBand. For years/decades, both of them have been competing and well, are able to surprise the audiences and fans with their techniques and capability ; height of the throw of the mace and the formations and also, the music. Well, they did damn good this year. Formation like the Taj Mahal, The London Bridge and an Aeroplane is really cool. It really blew me away. Having strong percussionist, awesome Brasses who can literally spin their instruments again and again and not forgetting, the drum majors that showcased their awesome techniques and talents. Applause to the drum majors.
Congratulations on both Deyi Military and TKBand for clinching the Gold with Honours award. Apparently, my prediction of only TWO Gold with Honours medal came true. Still, I'm disappointed that TKBand did not win this year's best display award but the award went to Deyi Band and I'm damn proud of them. Well, I have to admit that I'm a big fan of both bands.

Really proud of Deyi Band, after 3 consecutive Syf's of not getting the award. Their effort really paid off and yes, they did surprise the whole audience. I myself, could not describe this proud feeling I have, as a DeyiBand fan.
Yes, I'm quite sad that TKBand did not get the award this year. Maybe it's because that I'm really a fan of them, and I really felt the pain that they got. Not being able to defend the title of 3 Syfs, the feeling is really omg. Somehow, I personally felt that they're so similar to us, Magnum. Though they lost, the people around them will forever give their support and will always back them up, no matter what the situation/circumstances are. I'm proud of them, cos they did fight hard and put up a good show to impress the audiences and judges. But I guess this year, luck wasn't on their side. Every single of them really tried to hold back their tears while presenting the songs to their school. Every member of TKBand is very passionate and I'm sure, they love the band as much. Rawr, I'm damn proud them like everyone else. Hey, just hope you guys will be alright and will do an even better display in 2010. Hidup TKBand!
Congratulations to all of them.
To be honest, how I wish my own little juniors were just like them.
